The firm's managing partner, Raul R. Sotolongo, a 1972 graduate of North Carolina State University, is a registered architect in the state of Florida and member of the American Institute of Architects and National Association of Home Builders. He is a life director of the Builders Association of South Florida and past Chairman of the Codes Committee for the Builders Association of South Florida, where he spearheaded the drive to streamline the building permit process. Mr. Sotolongo has appeared as a featured speaker on residential design at the national conventions of the National Association of Home Builders, and other forums. In addition, the Urban Land Institute Conference at Cleveland, Ohio selected Mr. Sotolongo as one of five U.S experts to speak on residential design.

At the forefront of design technology, Sotolongo Salman Henderson Architects introduced the Design Wizard, a software program created with Westbrooke Communities that allowed home buyers to customize production homes to their needs. Design Wizard attracted worldwide attention and Mr. Sotolongo appeared on CNN Headline News and numerous television and print news segments describing the software program. In addition, Hispanic Business Magazine named Mr. Sotolongo 1997 Hispanic Entrepreneur of the year for developing Design Wizard.
