Schoolhouse Road Residence
Description: Nestled among large banyans and oak trees, this old Florida style home features an entry pavilion with a wide front porch reminiscent of the early Florida settlers' " dog trot" houses. The entry pavilion is connected to the main house by a 40 foot long gallery affording views of landscaped atriums on both sides. The main house is a simple two story square with a central lantern that draws natural light and ventilation into the home's interior. The third building element in the home's campus-like scheme is the three car garage which connects to the house through a gallery style utility room. The home's three pod arrangement allowed the preservation of major trees and turned these open areas into visual focus points from inside the residence.
